Biological Activity

SB525334 is a selective inhibitor of transforming growth factor-β receptor I (ALK5, TGF-βRI) (IC50=14.3 nM). This agent inhibits TGF-β-induced ALK5 serine/ threonine kinase activity, thereby preventing phosphorylation of the Smad transcription factors and subsequent gene activation.
